Yalgoo Community Entry 2016 - ILLUMINATE : Transparency, Trust and Transformation
The Shire of Yalgoo community participates in the annual August, Banners in the Terrace Competition, in conjunction with the annual WALGA Convention week held in Perth.
Approximately 75 - 80 WA Communities enter their banners in the competition run by the WA Local Government Association as part of its annual Convention at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
This annual exhibition of banners along St Georges and Adelaide Terraces in Perth allows communities and regions throughout Western Australia to represent themselves to thousands of people travelling along these routes each day.
It is now a much anticipated part of the annual WA Local Government Convention and Trade Exhibition. Each year the WALGA Convention features a theme on which artists can build their banner design..
WALGA's Convention themes for previous years were:
2011 - local focus
2012 -new opportunities -new ground
2013 - future focus
2014 - ILLUMINATE : Transparency, Trust and Transformation
2015 - switched on
2016 - local impact - work in progress
