2014 Yalgoo Emu Cup and Goo Fest
On Saturday 11 October the Shire of Yalgoo is hosting the 2014 Yalgoo Emu Cup and Goo Fest. The ‘Emu Cup’ is an exciting and novel event that is being held in Yalgoo at the Old Railway Sporting Complex on the Geraldton – Mount Magnet Road.
The 2014 Yalgoo Emu Cup and Goo Fest is a unique event full of interesting and different activities including competitive emu themed races and competitions for children and adults. The Emu Cup features an array of novelty emu costume races, a small sculpture competition, local and imported live music and an explosion of arts activities and spectacular fireworks. The 2014 Emu Cup and Goo Fest promises to be a highlight of the Yalgoo 2014 events calendar.
Although preliminary activities such as kid’s workshops will be starting as early as 9.00 am, the formalities for the day’s program do not commence until 1.00 pm. At this time, some short speeches will be made before the official ‘race’ program commences. The race program and awards ceremony will be at 5.00 pm before an evening concert along with a spectacular fireworks display. The 2014 Yalgoo Emu Cup and Goo Fest concludes at 10.00 pm.
Everyone is invited to compete in the wacky emu themed races or the small sculpture prize on the day or simply to be here to be entertained by the hilarious races and wonderful entertainment program.
